Small Collage on Panel
These works are made by appropriating images of iconic sculptures by Henry Moore, Jean Arp, and Lynda Benglis, among others. Using selections of the shapes and their outlines, the layered surfaces, at the same time familiar and foreign, are meant to disorient and lead the viewer through an endless examination of organic shapes, tonal values and textures, My process is intuitive and focuses on the visual tension between negative/positive space, figuration/abstraction, and how 2D forms occupy, define and create space.
