DIMINISHING RESOURCES

A concrete garden statue was placed on a pedestal of water bottles. Deep black motor oil oozed out of the top of the urn that the statue held in her arms. Glass shelves were placed at eye level on the walls behind the statue. They were covered with piles of damp soil which created an artificial topographic horizon. As the viewer approached the center of the space an infrared switch activated an audio recording of synthesized bird sounds.
